Appointments

A referral is not required to be seen for an appointment at JmBee Travel Health Clinic.

Yes, once your appointment is confirmed, a secure online questionnaire will be sent to your email. Once submitted, you do not need to download or print your answers.

No. Patient consultations typically last 30 – 60 minutes and must be scheduled in advance by booking online or calling our office.

Please arrive with any personal vaccine records, including childhood cards in order for the nurse to provide you the best recommendations for your trip. Photos of vaccine records are helpful too!

Yes, any immunizations you choose to receive will be given during the first appointment and your vaccination record will be updated or a new record printed for you.

Some vaccines do require multiple shots (boosters) within the first few weeks/month.  At the end of your first appointment, a follow-up visit will be scheduled.

  • Rabies

Other vaccines may need to be repeated after a few years like Typhoid Fever.  

Vaccinations

Yes! JmBee Travel Health Clinic is Yellow Fever vaccination site authorized by the CDC and are registered with Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The clinic has an official Yellow Fever stamp that is placed inside the “yellow card.”

During your appointment, the Yellow Fever vaccine will be documented in an immunization booklet commonly known as the “yellow card.”  It’s official name is the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP).  

The nurse will also use an official stamp and fill the “yellow card” out completely using your name from a government issued ID.  

As part of your appointment, staff will discuss recommended or required vaccines based on the country you are traveling to.  Your immunization and health history are considered before providing specific recommendations and to ensure you can safely receive the vaccines.

Staff at JmBee Travel Health Clinic are specially trained to follow CDC and World Health Organization guidelines and have access to up-to-date country and region specific information to ensure you get the vaccines needed. 

Yes, if you give consent, a record of any vaccines you receive will be securely sent to your medical provider’s office. 

Additionally, all vaccines will be reported electronically to the Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS).  MIIS is a state-wide system for reporting immunizations to ensure an electronic version of your vaccine history is always available regardless of where you receive your shots. 

Prescriptions

Yes, if you are traveling to a country or region where malaria is a risk, a prescription for malaria is included in the office visit fee. 

An electronic prescription will be sent to a pharmacy of your choice after your appointment.  

JmBee Travel Health is not a primary care provider and cannot provide prescriptions outside of our scope of pracitce. 

In some cases, a prescription for traveler’s diarrhea and/or high altitude sickness can be sent to your pharmacy via electronic ordering. 

Payments and Cancellations

If you cancel less than 48 hours before your appointment, you may be charged a $50 fee.

We accept all credit cards including American Express and Discover and debit cards. 

Cash is also accepted

JmBee Travel Health Clinic is not in network with health insurance plans.  Any vaccinations received, including the fee for the office visit will be charged at the end of the appointment.  

Many health insurance plans do not cover travel vaccinations and required their members to pay out-of-pocket. 

We suggest checking with your health insurance first to be certain if they offer reimbursement.

Yes, at the end of your appointment, you will receive an itemized invoice, also known as a Superbill, showing insurance codes and charges you paid. If you choose, you can send this to your health plan and sometimes it will apply to your deductible or you may receive a refund from your insurance plan.
